My opinion is those kits are overpriced by 300 bucks. I love the CMP and all but that stuff...

A receiver is 500 bucks minimum. Barreled receiver is 1200. Hard to build a rifle at decent price with those numbers.

That being said, I bet you'll regret not buying one someday.
