Hi,
I've seen between finger tight and 15 in-lbs for the tube-mounting screws on the M1D scope mount. What's the correct torque requirement?

Saw this on GB--
1903 springfield warner swasey 1908/1913 scope : Bolt Action at GunBroker.com
The scopes appear very interesting, but the rifle looks like a mismatch.
Gentlemen,
Thanks--I'm putting one coat a day on the stock and then letting it dry. The first and second coats fixed 90% of the problem area, and I figure another 2-3 coats will do the trick.

I was shooting my 03A4 today--shot great with Hornady Garand loads and would still print well under an inch.
However, I got a little bore solvent on my stock when I was cleaning it. It acted like...
Thanks--
Guess I'll be adding a scant to the collection sometime soon.
Did any 1903A4s come out of the factory as scants, or were they all field replacements?
They just built an LRB-based M14 for me. It was a first class build throughout--all USGI and mostly TRW. They won't do the NM updates.
I'm a big believer in shooting everything in the safe--but I take exceptional care with my rifles to keep them in great condition. Thanks for the recommendations. My 1903A4 is going to the 1K line.

Going to be participating in some historic sniper matches--who would be a good smith who can do some match prep for my M1903 while retaining historic nature of the gun?
Thanks
Friction paper may work well too. If you guys shoot at Quantico, let me know.

Gentlemen,
Thanks all--I guess my hunt for one will now begin.

Were the 1960s era M14 NM stocks oversize or regular USGI? Is there an easy way to tell the difference on them?
Thanks
Gentlemen,
Thanks all--I generally shoot precision rifles and don't like sticking a bore brush on the muzzle side since it endangers the crown. I use a bore guide on the chamber side to prevent...
Recommendations?
Thanks
What month did M1D barrel production stop-- have heard it was 2-53, others say 7-53. I defer to this esteemed body... thanks.
Thanks--as a military guy, it seems strange to me that the arsenal would stamp a barrel for something that the soldier would have to re-do when he received the rifle.
Hi,
I know the T stamp is "Targeted After Assembly". What exactly does that mean?
Thanks,
Steve
That's a great looking rifle, and I'm going to use these photos as a reference for my upcoming purchase of an M1D.
