makes me wonder why the nosecap was opened up, or perhaps the wood was replaced also??

Hi Homer,sorry mate, I mean the sight base is matched to the replacement barrel, I was having a brain fart...lol,
The holes through the stock have got me at a total loss, the stock is not cracked...

Just picked up a 1916 Lithgow that was in Italy ( government storage) for decades.
Interesting rifle, still retains its maple stock, apart from the top hand guard which is coach wood....

Just picked up a 1937 Porto Contract K98, all matching and in good order and not messed with. Nicely stamped with good markings and good bore. There is no Portuguese crest on the woodwork...

Yes mate, I was out at Penrith, I was very lucky to get the HT, the No 4's were priced at $6k to $6500, they were in very good order.

The high power is a great pistol to shoot, although the GLOCK 9mm is very easy to strip, clean and maintain and the model 17 is a great shooter.
Oh so close if I had the Pommy enfield sniper it would be just right, unfortunately I have the SMLE 1917 HT and need the AOC PATT 1918.
