What I think I'm going to do is order a new extractor, new ejector screw, and new extractor spring all at once so I'm not having to trial-and-error it for weeks on end.
Thank you both very much!

scoobsean,
Yeah, it's not an AR-15, where mags work like that, I'll never take it out as long as I live once I have it reliable!
Thanks for the tip on the extractor screw. Do you mean that the...
Good Day All!
I'm loving the early No4Mk2 that I got recently, I do have two problems however.
First, the rifle came with two magazines, one serialed (though not to my rifle) and one with no...
Recently came across a Mod98 with almost 500 rounds of surplus ammo for $500, so I scooped it up. I'm just a little interested in it's history if someone has the time.
Matching Receiver, barrel,...
All,
Thanks for your input, just didn't know what to think since I couldn't find much info in my relatively quick research.
I know of a k98 for sale with a code of "dot" but a date of 1945 on the receiver. From my research this rifle should not exist, as the latest "dot" code is late 1944, unless they dated the receiver...
All,
I am a big, huge dufus. There was some doubt (including by myself) as the the originality of the bolt to the rifle, partly based on a two-digit number that I had cited in a previous post. ...
BAR,
Good to know, thanks for the insight!
No4Mk1t,
The carbine is "freshly" greased by myself (just how it looks after almost 100 rounds though her). Good looking out, though and great...
BAR,
I don't have any particularly good pictures of the Enfield, but I have some posted here:
No4Mk2 Questions
I have always done as you advise (detail stripping) I just wanted a second...
BAR,
Thanks for your input, I'm just trying to do right by the rifles and by history. I will do as you say. What do you think about the No4Mk2? Take it out of the stock for a good cleaning, or...

I have the two American arms with about 45% of their finish remaining. I obviously want to avoid pitting, rust, etc. While none of them are going to be museum pieces, nor am I going to try and...
Peter, thanks for the advice all around. Should I just call a few of my local gunsmiths to see if they do such bolt-fitting, or is this a relatively uncommon thing done by only a few guys now?
All,
Thank you for your assistance in identifying some of the particulars of the rifle! After further inspection, SpikeDD is correct, the bolt does not appear to be original to the rifle. Also,...

ssj,
There are your pictures of the wrist area.
Robert,
Thanks for the clarification. I do not know how to get you a better picture. When I took the picture of the side of the receiver it was originally 2.8MB (too large to upload). I finally...

Just got a SMLE No4Mk2 for $200 yesterday and I have some questions for those of you whom are supremely knowledgeable on the topic.
First, I have to assume...
Yeah, I looked up the man. date of the rifle and when it didn't match up to the barrel I was a little dubious. Pretty darn decent wood actually and overall in good condition. Asking price: $500
My LGS has what may be a limited edition of some kind 1903, but I am completely unsure of this. It is a 1903 Springfield Armory serial #952301 and has an interesting (best I can describe it, sorry)...
