Hey Smellie,
Go to World War II Guns - Articles to see some pics of the rifle I speak of. The one in the pic/article is actually one of those repro airsoft things, but looking at the pics it is hard...
Hello Smelie,
While a mauser is a "purty thang", I still love the early war Arisaka Type 99 Short Rifle. When I say early war I mean with a fine stock, all its doo dads (monopod, dust cover, etc.)....
Hello Badger,
Thanks for the input. While the rifle is of course a real MN 91/30, I've been told that by the markings my scope is more than likely a Ukranian repro. It is a nice scope and even if...
Thanks for the info and input. While not a sho'nuff original one from WWII, I am still excited about it and can't wait to pay it off and go see how I shoots. The last 91/30 I had would hit the end of...
Hello all,
I have a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 PU Sniper Rifle on layaway at a gun store. How do you tell if it is original or one of those you read about where someone has just slapped a PU scope on a...
I can not wait until I get my PU sniper out!!!

I have had two or three early war Japanese rifles and they shot wonderfully. That was back when you could find them in stacks on tables at gunshows for like $60.00 a piece. Wish I had've hung on to...
Hello BigDukes,
Great pic. And such a romantic rootin tootin period of history. I love the 1800s, especially 1800s cavalry.
I believe his name is E. Thompson, possibly "Ernest" or something or...
Yep, that is great news, and the battle is far from over. Actually, it will never be over as long as antis are out there. And with mass immigration now a days from all over, where their freedoms or...
Thanks Bruce. One day I might want to get me one. Right now I have a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 PU Sniper on layaway.

Hey y'all,
Me again! Now that I think of it the question should have asked which was your favorite bolt action of WWII and which was you favorite semi/auto? So, I stated my favorite bolt action...
Hey Skip, I believe your are right in that. I was looking over that manual and it was specifically talking about Soviet manufacture ammo..
Thanks

Hello all,
I have only handled and shot the '03 a couple times, one of my friend's wpns. It shot ok but to me it was too long and bulky feeling and I do not like open, unprotected front sights,...
Thanks Skip. But that red ring around it scares me. Here's some ammo info from the US manual for it. It might be speaking strictly of Soviet manufacture, but check out what it says about the...
Hey Gunner,
I have never owned an Enfield, just handled a couple of them. But of them, I like the EnfNo1Mk3. I like its size, length, sight set up, etc..

There is a nice one at "Shooters", a gunstore in Columbus, Ga. It is so sweet! The reticle is about like the reticle in a Dragunov scope. But the price on this Yugo M76 is well over $2,000.00 bucks,...
Yep, let us know how it shoots.

Nice early war Type 99. Has the monopod and all on it. Nice pic!!

Neat pic. He looks almost like some sort of Naval soldier.

Hello all,
Just curious, if you had to fight with nothing but WWII bolt actions, which would you pick (not including sniper rifles)? I would pick the early war Japanese Arisaka Type 99 7.7mm rifle....
Yep, I too was always told dryfiring would damage guns. But our Dept of Corrections fire arms instructors had us dry firing our Glocks to practice proper trigger pull, sight allignment, etc.....
1. For efficiency and speed in combat, naturally the M-1 Garand, or maybe that AK looking thing the Germans came out with, a semi auto for sure.
2. But as for Bolt action rifles, mine is the early...
Hello all,
I have a Russian Mosin-Nagant 91/30 PU Sniper rifle on lay-away. I am looking forward to shooting it. While I know it will shoot anything, or shall I say make of ammo, in its calibre, I...
Hello Celtic,
I have the Ordnance Manual put out by the U.S. Army Ordnance Bureau in 1954. Here is what it says about Russian ammo. I hope this helps. If not helpful I hope you find it interesting:...
