I couldn't resist going out in the snow to try the Hakim now that it has a new extractor. The climate shock didn't seem to affect it as I put 60 rounds of '53 Yugo down range. The action worked...
It seems to b the powder, although the equivalent load in 30.06 will not give even a spark.
:sos:I have a Peruvian M35 looking for a Peruvian bayonet.
My first purchase was a Mitchell. I was misled by the advertizing and paid far more than I should have, however, it is the rifle that got me interested in collecting. My interest in learning about...
What ever you do, do not take the bolt apart without the tool to reassemble it. I took mine apart one evening and found out the hard way. Without the tool you'll need six hands to hold all the spring...

Jugs of water are fun, but Tannerite is the bomb, literally!
Jugs of water are a hoot to shoot! One of the most available and inexpensive, but visualy appealing reactive targets there is.
Yugo surplus 8mm does real well in my 24/47. The year doesn't seem to matter much. Hungarian yellow tip does real good in my M-39. I can't complain about the South African 7.62 X 51 in my Enfield....
I recycle my brass too. Yugo 8mm is the best beacuse it seems to be heaviest. Recycling it gets the cost of shooting the 8mm down close to the cost of .22 ammo.
I shoot year round, even in the snow. One thing that I notice about shooting in colder temperatures is that cosmoline does not ooze from the Yugo stocks.
