jimb16, could you show a link for information on Rock-Ola using "I" stocks on late numbered carbines?

You might also note the 15 round GI magazines where the front fold/seam is to the right and those codes that fold to the left. This can be seen while looking down on the follower with the fold facing...
Can someone point out the restrictions in the BATFE regulations that state that an incomplete CC&R firearm or part [receiver, barreled receiver] cannot be mailed to a Type 3 FFL holder, but only to a...

Newscotlander, did IP/S'G' in June/July 1943 restart number stamping using the IP or S'G' logo? Is your 1799xxx IP or S'G' stamped?
How may I get a copy of the club newsletter 374?
Many thanx,...
I have this S'G' carbine within the IP first serial number range. It has an Underwood 6/44 barrel. I am guesssing this carbine is likely a S'G' substitution for a damaged IP receiver that was put...
Thanx Roy, very nice pictures.

Hi Ed.
Pictures are a must!
The rifle serial # will be on the top of the heel /receiver. The number you stated would be the Garand part/series number for the receiver.

I agree with Imarangemaster, SW Oregon is very nice country. So is Western

The firing pin spring appears to be missing. Could you show a close up pic of the top of the breach where the gas release hole [s] are and a pic of the left side of the receiver where any serial...
Just checked the number of my Quality carbine, 1,880,445. The sales slip from the dealer I bought it from wrote the serial number as 1,980,445. I had to double check mine when I was doing a data...
I have a 1960's NRA sold Winchester, #5,628,117 with a type 3 rear sight by Hemphill, a dark blue round bolt, a small w in the sling well. It does not have a WRA/GHD stamp, only the ordnance cross...
I believe the correct designation for the Italian / Arisaka rifle is the type I [ i ]not the type one, 1.

Stickhauler, back in 2006 the CMP received a few hundred M1 carbine receivers from the Army, these included some Plainfield and Universal commercial receivers. I think the commercial ones sold for...
Warpig's thought is a good one, helps to maintain the rifle's originality to leave the screws un-buggerred and staking not disturbed. You have to decide, do you want to shoot it without damaging an...
The front band is from a Japanese type-38 rifle, it is numbered to the receiver and stock which is a cut down Japanese rifle stock. As was stated before, it has a proper rifle rear sight. It should...
If you want to continue to shoot your Arisaka, you could remove the rear band with sling along with the rear sling swivel. Be careful during removal to not scratch the wood up front, use WD-40 on the...
That is a very nice looking Carbine. You have done a great job on the wood.
The stock looks much like a "potbelly" late war or m2 stock. Does it have a selector cut out on the left side?
A keeper...
I have one of these. It has a Fulton Armory barrel on a CMP Plainfield receiver. It has had some feeding issues in semi-auto, I think due to different bullet shape/size and incorrect ramp angles....
Crossed cannons, your type three housing [left housing] look like it has impact marks from a "dogleg" type hammer use at sometime in its past.
Chuck
It doesn't help make the Carbine go bang [I guess].

As others have indicated, the longer bayonet is Japanese, a type 30. This one was made by Toyoda Auotmatic Loom Works, under the supervision of Nagoya. This is a common variation of the type 30...
