Garands - 3 in 7.62mm NATO, and 2 in .30-06. I could be blindfolded and couldn't tell the difference in recoil. I've loaded the same 150gr SMK in both rifles, using appropriate loads, and I can't...

Jeff's 7.62mm brass is once-fired, machine gun brass. None of the Long Range brass is shown.

MG brass is probably oversized due to the larger MG chambers.

    The latest on my "woes".

Yesterday, the UPS guy (AKA drugs delivery agent) delivered a nice package from Sinclair. Included was their Sinclair Seating Depth Gauge, AR15 adapter, and some Sierra...
  6. Problem With Panther Arms Upper (Posted also on other fora)

I have a Panther arms upper, 24" bbl, 1-8" twist, no fwd assist. I got several FTF's today, while using a new load. The load is 80gr SMK in commercial Black Hills cases, using WW primers. Bullet is...

The Konus is a great start. They also make a 4" (100mm) scope that is 20x-60x. They can be had for well under $300.

    Winchester Ammunition

I have several boxes of Winchester 7.62x51 ammunition. The projectile is the 147gr FMJ. It functions perfectly in my M1's, M1A, and Panther Arms LR308. It's also very accurate. It's commercially...

    The gauging results...

I finally got to the gunsmith today. Here's what was found:

    Throat erosion - .006"
    Muzzle erosion - .003"

According to the gunsmith, the throat erosion should not exceed .010", and the...

Thanks, Devil Dog. I measured using a LC round, and it came out to a shade over 1/8". That would be marginal. I'm taking it to a local guy tomorrow, and he'll use the gauges on it to confirm.
