Yep I had one with a Weaver K4 mounted in it. Years ago I saw a plugged M-1C receiver built into a papered, no joke M-1D on the CMP auction site. Thats something I've never seen again

Jim,
I've guaged many many NIW USGI barrels that read 1 at the low end and 3 at the high end. Also on a new Criterion Garand barrel I used to re-barrel an HRA Garand I bought not too long ago. It...
Dunno who makes the numrich ones, but you can get a Criterion 03A3 barrel from Deans Gun Restorations. Criterion barrels are great, theyre made by Krieger
Rock River Arms makes a nice A2 stock assembly, so does Bravo Company.
thats a good looking rifle. one of the local sheriffs departments still gets some of its rifles that way. I've helped do the work on a dew of them and I've seen lots of SP1s.
a TE of 3 is very good for a used issue Garand, most new barrels have TE's of between 2 and 3, that barrel has ALOT of life left in it. ME of 3 also isnt that bad, thats actually pretty tight...
you'll like it. If I'd have know the kind of accuracy they got out of issue rifles back when this chassis came out in 05-06 I would've bought five of them LOL
So I got my SAGE EBR together.
The parts are:
-Springfield Armory Loaded Standard barreled action
-Winchester Bolt
-Springfield Armory(National Armory) Op-rod and trigger group(bought from the...
I took one of my two No 4 MkII's out to shoot today and the rifle is more or less pristine. All the numbers match and she's a fine example the kind of rifle that used to be readily availible on the...
whats the throat and muzzle erosion since its a rack grade?
You might want to just get a new standard barrel in 06 or .308 , or if you decide to go the M1D kit route, get in touch with a reputible gunsmith that specializees in the Garand and go from there. I...
I'm having trouble imagining the mechanics of that. Having the bolt locked to the rear shouldnt make field stripping it any different, the action is open, thats the onlt difference.
Hopefully tomorrow or Sunday I'll ge the EBR and Standard out to get zeroed
Any luck , I havent made it to the range in almost three weeks
Hopefully I'll get the chance to take both of the full length ones out that far in the very near future
From back to front they are:
SA Inc Loaded Standard SAGE EBR Mod 0-Still a work in progress
SA Inc Standard
Polytech Bush Rifle in a VLTOR EMOD stock with a Knights Armament M14 RAS

Ahh gotcha. Well I look forward to your range report with great anticipation
I've wanted an A1 for a while, but built this A2 clone since its what I used when I was in the Corps.

I've looked at both and only the Larue is in stock and ready to ship. I've also looked at two other mounts, one Larue and the other American Defense. All three dont have the rear securing...
How do you like the Larue cantilever mount? I'm looking into getting one for my own M1A EBR build.
its got the "bullet button" it can be removed and replaced without too much head ache.
