Ok so i did a dumb thing.:banghead: I recently purchased a 1934 hex Mosin and removed the old cracking shellac and replaced it with BLO. Now i want to remove the BLO without sanding. i already...
i found some 7.5x55 brass . same question, what powder and how much should i put to be safe ?
I also don't believe that shellac was used pre-war and during ww2 that's a post war thing. My M-44 is dated 1945 and has an oily finish like linseed or tung oil it's pretty beat up with a lot of...
Some SVT-40's that came from Finland came to Canada and the barrels were cut down and added a sight on top of the gas port and cut the end of the stock and added an ugly rubber but pad this was done...

If you have a rufurb mark then you wouldn't be able to miss it . They are usually on the side of the butt stock , the refurb mark on Mosins and SVT's are not small they are about half an inch wide....

Would it be a good idea to have the Nazi markings scrubbed off and reblue it or should i keep it as is ?
I know it will effect the value if i refinish the rifle . but i will never sell it it will...
Yah i know  Very likely to be fake markings  But it does have a high wall receiver witch indicates that it was an early 1945 production.
i just count myself lucky to have found a ww2...
