Peter, I agree. In your line of work, there would have been no way you could have been even slightly anal. I can't imagine an armorer bent over a parts bin digging for a correctly marked part....
Brian most likely has the correct marked magazine and follower for sale. He may also have the correct buttstock for a savage as well. The buttstock currently on your rifle is of British manufacture.
