Hi Peter,
Which auction site are you referring to?
JimF4M1 and Vintage Hunter are both correct.
Can anyone suggest a source for USGI bolt tools?
Thanks for the responses everyone.
Do the auction houses (Amoskeag. Morphy, Rock Island) make any effort to keep the fakes out or are they a free for all?
Are there any that are better/worse than others?
OK, considering that there are very few carbines that weren't re-built I was thinking he was saying it was something more than that.
Thanks Jim. Why do they tend to decrease the value?

Greetings,
I just saw this cartouche on a carbine at an online auction site (Invaluable?), the 'SA' indicates a rebuild at Springfield Armory? What is the 'C'? Inspector?
Anything that doesn't...
Thanks Rick. I've read some of your previous posts and I'm trying to see if I'm 'getting it'. I originally thought the the curve of the 'S' looked good and the crossbar of the 'A' did as well. What...
I thought this was a pretty obvious example. I don't know the correct terminology for the various parts of a cannon but the part on the back end of both cannons look mis-shaped and incorrectly sized;...

I was at a gun show recently and came across a Garand with the cartouche below. I'm a long way from knowing anything about anything and I wanted to get the opinion of...

Once again Cosine, thanks.
What would a fair price be?
Thanks for your response Cosine. Unfortunately, the picture that you were looking at was not posted by me and is not a picture of the bullets I am asking about.
I posted two pics that appear as...
Thanks Musketshooter.
These are not cartridges; just bullets.
I posted the wrong picture; here's a better one.

The white boxes in this picture are all marked .30M2 and have the drawing number, contract number and W.R.A. lot number on them. Could these be surplus bullets? Can anyone tell me anything about...
Why contraband? Are you saying there would be full auto internals?
ProMag makes a very good aftermarket magazine both in 15rd and 30rd. The Korean mags are ok; ProMag is better IMHO.
I'd rather get two boxes than none. Things will get back to normal before too long.
Charlie...I just saw your post. I hope it's not that bad. I think there is an assumption that the demand will...
My bad, I wasn't being specific. Jim, you are saying that the hardback mags had the full seam and the split back had the partial seam, right? I failed to note that I was asking only about the...
