Jim, could you call me at 541-868-7493? I can explain it easier over the phone. Thanks
No, it's too tight to turn in so the receiver and barrel yoke fits flush. This is at the end for the teeth as you are looking at the barrel and locking bar, the last of the teeth then the ring is...
WHEN I ATTEMPT TO PUT THE GUN TOGETHER IN THE LAST THREADS AND THEN TURN IT IN, THE TWO HALVES WILL NOT QUITE GET TO AN ALIGNMENT. THE ADJUSTMENT COLLAR IS AT THE END OF IT'S TEETH. LOOSING AND...
What do I do now. I received the gun with it put together using threads that created a gap between the barrel and receiver. I took it apart and tried to start it correctly and it will not turn in...
Thanks for your comments and I agree with you. I'm not going to mess with it. I bought a bore snake and cleaned it that way. Now, I'm just curious if the military really did build these not to be...

I agree with you. Look at this statement lifted from a Trench gun that is currently on Gunbroker; WW2 VINTAGE, ARSENAL PARKERIZED AS IT WAS ORIGINALLY GUN BLUED BY WINCHESTER IN WW2 AND ALSO SHOULD...
I decided to dedicate this Sunday morning to trying to take it apart again. With NO success! I had the slide action bar and magazine tube completely out and the barrel/yoke assembly just will not...
Will do.
Thanks for that. Just knowing there is nothing to keep it from turning out is helpful. I guess mine is tough to disassemble because it hasn't been done in many years. I'll get it now.
Bruce, I just got through pouring through your book looking for that statement with no luck, which now makes sense (since you never wrote it). I got that idea from reading the writeup of a...
No, nothing apparent like that on this shotgun. We don't have a competent gunsmith in this town so hopefully someone will give me the answer. If the WWII Winchester 97's were made not to break...
Thanks for that information. I've ordered Canfield's book on military shotguns, but I understand he states the military versions were made not be break down??? Here are some pictures of my shotgun....
After removing the bayonet brace and taken the magazine tube out of the receiver and I thought now I should be able to turn the barrel and yoke assemble 90 degrees and remove but I can't get it to...
Here are pictures of my SA Trainer, model 1922. What can you guys tell me about it? It has not been stamped with the "B" behind the model or SN. What does that mean? Thanks in advance.
SA...
Thanks for the kind words. I paid $1200 so maybe that wasn't so bad. One site says the serial number shows 3/43. The bore looks great but do not have a head space gauge.
Hello, new member here. I did post today about a Springfield M1 Garand I just bought and wondering about the "correctness" of it. I'm new to Garands but have been coming up to speed on M1 carbines...
I just acquired this M1 and it's my first. I've taken some pictures and here is the link: Springfield M1 Garand Photos by lovtgolf | Photobucket
