Here are pictures of 26th Cavalrymen at the Philippine Scouts Heritage Society reunion at Long Beach, CA in 2009. There was a panel where they talked about their experiences.

This would be one (History Channel), although not technically solely about the Scouts but they did a good job of including them:

Here's a short video montage from the event with Rick in it too :)
I think it may not matter whether a rifle is scarce or not. They make rubber and resin replica props for the movie. They have all those other exotic firearms in it that are more "rare" compared to a...
From what I know:
The PC and PS always had 1903's.
Before WW2, the PS combat units (cavalry and infantry were all issued Garands), along with the American 31st Infantry.
When the Phil....
An old photo of the Philippine Constabulary I would guess circa late 1920's-early 1930's.

For what it's worth... I tested my new criterion for the first time last weekend.
At 100 yards using a sandbag rest. HXP ammo. I was messing with 6 o'clock aiming vs. center mass.
Disclaimer:...
The cover is actually what caught my attention... the funny thing is they labeled the soldier a "Bataan rifleman" but it's actually a soldier from the 1st Filipino Infantry being formed at that time...

Hmm... but the front sights are blades, not those with guard "ears" like the 1917 and M1.
Here are the real cadets from the Memorial Day parade 2 weeks ago. I live in the area. The color guard looks like they have garands now.

Some '03's and an A3 in this 1981 movie titled TAPS, where Tom Cruise and Sean Penn first made their movie debut. Synthetic stock drill rifles? Looks like the front sight blades are gone too.

While a colorized version of this movie would be nice, I vote for a remake updated version along the lines of Band of Brothers. :)
I think the Class of 1940 graduated about 67 cadets and nine of them didn't survive the war. Other classes suffered casualties too. At the outbreak of war, these cadets had to lead too many untrained...
Hi Rick,
Yes, I thought it's a relatively rare picture that you don't usually see around. Here are some more but you can't make out the 1903's too well.
