    gun buy back

watching the local news this morning, there was a segment about a buy back in Camden NJ , about a 1000 guns turned in, on one table that was shown, there were about 7-8 carbines, the one on top had a flip site and I cut highwood stock, police chief said they were all going to be destroyed, it brought a tear to my eye oh and Camden is now ranked one of the most deadliest cities to be live in

And I will bet none of their problems have anything to do with carbines.

    To all,

It's very disappointing to see a piece of history destroyed. I know it bothers me.

I think that's what we are here to do. Our interests and hobbies are in the collecting of military surplus arms. Finding them in original condition, or rebuilding to where we would like them to be.

I don't want to see our forum lose that focus. Let's remember we don't want to get into the political viewpoints. It only causes tempers to rise and often ill worded posts.

    Thanks,

    Jim

They can buy my guns at market value. It will cost them a Rolls Royce. Tax free. And I am not alone.

As it should be, Honest to good Americans trying to "stop" the people hurrying to the scrap heap with collectible firearms and family heirlooms. Not to mention offering them fair cash prices for what they have, instead of a walmart gift card, that nowhere comes close to what many of the old turn-in's are worth. It's always been a shame to see, or read about all the fantastic examples of history that just get cut up and smashed to oblivian. I am glad to see folks trying to save them...

Arguing with a liberal is like trying to teach a cat how to sing: It is a waste of your time, & it annoys the cat.

Our local chief of police (Howard County, Maryland) contracted to buy new Glocks for all of his officers. He was offered $100,000 trade in on their old pistols, but declared that he would melt them to "keep them off the streets". I suggested to him that he take the money, & use it to buy & install steel lockboxes in the homes of each of his officers. He told me he didn't think that was worth while.
