Nagant 91/30 scope mounts?
I picked up this Nagant 91/30 from a local dealer about 5 years ago for $125. I shot it ALOT and love it. About a year later I was in the same gun shop buying a handgun and asked him how to mount a scope to my Nagant and he sold me an aftermarket rail that replaces the rear sight. I haven't put it on yet. Thought I would ask everyone's opinion on it. Any thoughts? Thank youAttachment 90438

That sounds like a standard "scout" mount which is good because it doesn't really alter the rifle so long as you don't lose the original sights when you take them off. You'll need a long eye relief scope to go with it.

How well does your rifle shoot with the irons? If it doesn't shoot reasonably well with irons, scoping it will not make it shoot any better. A scope only lets you see the target better.
Secondly, how much money do you want to spend? Like Aragorn243 says, you'll need a long eye relief scope if you opt to go with removing the rear sight. (That also means you're done for the day if something happens to the scope or mount.). However, you'll also need rings.
Have a look at this. It's a repro of the original Mosin sniper scope and mount. $208.00 is probably less than a long eye relief scope by itself.
