Thought that I'd post some before (mix-master) and after (correct parts) pictures on my Tractor Garandicon. BTW, the barrel is a LMR 2-53.

Still trying to decided if I'm going to re-park the rifle. Your input and comments would be appreciated.

Sweet! I would leave the finish alone.

If the finish was original I would not refinish it but, as this finish is not original, and there is nothing to indicate that it is a U.S. arsenal refinish, it really makes little difference if you refinish it again. Do whatever makes you happy. I would guess what is bothering you is the fact that the IHC parts you added are much darker than the barrel and receiver. In this case I would have only the barrel and receiver re-parked so that it is darker and more closely resembles the original finish. You have done a nice job up to this point and I think a darker park will improve the appearance.

I wouldn't spend the extra cash to refinish what's good right now. Mixed colours doesn't make any difference. I think it looks good as is.

It depends on what the owner wants. He has changed just about all the parts that were on the rifle already. He has already spent money on the correct IHC parts, so it seems to me that he is attempting to restore the rifle to as close to original appearance as he can. If that's the case, the light gray re-finish just does not work with the darker IHC parts. If he had just wanted a shooter, then yes, leave it as is. The SA, WRA and H&R parts that were originally in the rifle would have worked just fine.

I have been following the OP's posts on the CMPicon and Culvericon forums in regard to this rifle and there are a lot more photos, both "before and after". Also a description of the rifle as purchased.

Bottom line, to each his own. I am sure there are other opinions, this is just mine.

And so far, everyone disagrees with you. Yes, it's his rifle. I couldn't care less what he, or you for that matter does...is THAT ok with you?

If you careless about anyone's opinion then why do you bother stroking your keyboard on Milsurps?
I thought you both had good points for the OP and I'm sure that was one of the reasons Milsurps was established.
