Looks like the receivers are drilled and tapped inorder to hold it together.GK

They were big in the 70s and 80s kind of... 
The price is a high however it is still a cool item. One of the set-ups sans the actual carbines sold for over $500.00 last year.

When they first came out in the late 70's the price if I remember right was $99.00 for the unit and you had to supply the carbines. There is no drilling or tapping to attach the carbines. They bolt and clamp together on the unit. And because they are operated by the crank there is no need to register it as a machine gun. Just like a Gatling gun. I do remember reading years ago that they were not accurate as the whole thing keeps bouncing around as it fires.
