    1943 Longbranch no4T ex-Italian Navy - sold at auction

    Anyone else notice this recent (end April) sale at Hermann Historica auction in Munich?

    1943 34L numbered with scope, tin and transit chest. Sold for 2700 Euro. A bargain even with commission added

    Anyone on here lucky enough to pick it up?

    Lot Nr. 1166

    Hermann Historica - Internationales Auktionshaus für Antiken, Alte Waffen, Orden und Ehrenzeichen, Historische Sammlungsstücke

    A sniper rifle Enfield No. 4 Mk I* (T) with scope 32, in transport box
    Cal. .303 brit., no. 34L8492. Bolt not matching-numbered. Bright bore. Ten shots. Folding dioptre. On left side of receiver marked "No. 4 Mk I* / Long Branch / 1943". Complete, original, matt bluing. Dark, varnished walnut stock with cheek, brass butt cap, minimal storage marks.
    Mounted: a scope 32, on body marked "1949 - Ma 1038". Varnished black. Reticle 2. Technically and optically in good order. Matching-numbered mount (no. 34L8492). Olive-coloured scope container with web carrying strap, inside lid fixture with tools.
    The sniper rifle originates from the Italianicon navy's NATO reserve and comes in matching wooden olive-coloured transport box, dimensions 118 x 13 x 26 cm, with two leather carrying straps. Inside lid contents list and instructions for use. Exterior stencilled "CASSETA SA No.15 Mk I / PER FUCILE No. 4 Mk I (T)". Almost new overall condition.

    It was a fake, as is the Garandicon sniper. Made up by armeria al 91.
