Dutch Beaumont Pupil Rifle. What is it?

I’ve been wanting a Dutch Beaumont Carbine for a while for going on woods walks. Then I saw this on auction. A Beaumont Pupil Length single shot rifle. The sights are different from the long rifle, and ive only seen the name on the Wikipedia write up of the Beaumont’s. I’m hoping someone knows a thing or two about these, if they are more scarce than regular rifles and what their value might be. Thanks for any help.

I just found info stating the pupil or cadet versions would have a P or K serial number prefix. This rifle has a B. So I guess maybe it’s not a Pupil rifle? Either way, I wanted a short Beaumont for in the woods use.

I was thinking it would be a sporter, cut down for hunting. The cartridge would be very effective at proper ranges.

I’ve actually been looking for a sportster cut down for exactly that purpose. I have a correct numbers matching rifle that shoots very well but it’s a full length rifle that I have no interest in carrying in the woods. I like the looks of this rifle for exactly what I wanted it for, but the auction listed it as a pupil length rifle. So I’m trying to figure out what exactly I have. Based on the serial number prefix, I think it might be more in line as a Carbine version with the stock shortened. I’m hoping someone here may have better information. Obviously once it arrives, I can post better pictures of the numbers.

Seems like it would fit the bill there quite nicely, if nothing else. Looks like a handy little beast.

I got this at a flea market for $100 years ago. I cleaned it up into this. Positive it's just a cut down long rifle.

Steve, you have the most interesting flea market / garage sale circuit I've ever seen! So much history still showing up in those Middle Atlantic states... If I lived closer, I'd pay $$$ to just make a round with you.

Supposedly we live in the Antique capital of the United Statesicon, or so they claim. We have them everywhere. I got a mint Irish Contract No4 Enfield at a yard sale a while back. It's not easy. This year has been a good one but the previous three not so much. I've found something almost every week so far this summer. That's rare.
