Mismached remrand

I got a remington rand bottom and a colt top the bottom has almost no finish but no pitting the top is a colt black phosfate slide. my question is do I find a remrand slide and repark or leave as is and repark?

It's yours. I wouldn't refinsh it. I almost never keep refinished stuff, unless it was done before it left service. Something annoying about prettified gear that wasn't intended for show originally. So, you gotta decide what route is best for you.

leaving it as is is an option, I know what you mean I have yet to refinish one of my guns . But with almost no finish on the frame I'm thinking I have to protect it with something.

Oil will work. I've had an M&P .38 and a 1911 (WWI) with about 0% blue (and not much brown, either) that did just fine with an occasional oiling, but both had so much "character" that folk offered me way too much to keep 'em. Still miss the 1911, a little, as it was a great foul weather weapon. Shot it rain or shine.

Maybe you can find a "no finish" slide that matches your frame. Probably won't cost much, either.

I had a similar gun. I swapped the slide for a R-R slide, & had everything reparked. Plus, I put in a new WW2 replacement barrel. It looks great, & is my favorite shooter.
