    Arisaka Gunsmith

I have a Type 99 I inherited from my grandfather. The whole gun (metal and all) was covered with some clear coat shellac/varnish. My grandfather says it was like that way when he got it. I'm terrified what the gun looks like below the stock. I would like a gunsmith to give it a look over and clean it up. Does anyone have a recommendation? I'm open to shipping it but if you know anyone in DFW/north Texas/ southern Oklahoma that would be great.

If you send me a PM, I will reply with the name and email address of someone who is considered to be one of the top Arisakaicon/Nambu guys here in the US. He recently did a Nambu 14 repair for me. Excellent work, reasonable prices.

Thanks for the PM. I responded with the information you were seeking. If possible, some pictures of the rifle and its issues would allow some of the experts here to give you some advice prior to moving forward with your project. Good luck!
