Just found this forum, sure glad. : I have a carbine that has the grenade sight on it and the adapter for the barrel, and blanks. Has anyone else seen these? I do not know how to tell who made the rifle, but, sure am willing to listen. I am concerned about insurance coverage prices, rather than selling prices. I have reloaded for it and love it.

bigfoot, welcome to the forum. The most knowledgeable carbine collectors around, are here. Good pictures of your rifle will help alot. Look under/behind the rear sight for the maker of your carbine. Also the serial number will be there. There should be some information on the barrel behin the front sight. You might have to take off the launcher to see it. Hope that helps.....Frank

I don't see the launcher and sight for the carbine with as much regularity as the ones for the Garandicon. I think this is a good find.
Take some good side view pics of the gun.
Look for any markings on the stock, sling well might have markings also.
As stated above look for the maker and serial number behind the rear sight. Since you did not see it quickly it probably has the replacement rear sights.
Check the barrel for markings behind the sight or any writing underneath (import marks).
    Go from there!

Thanks fellows for the quick replys. I have found on the barrel IBM CORP just behind the front sight. That is a start. I do not know how to take off the rear sight to get to the name just above the serial number, 3861502, so I am in the process of learning and I also got two dummy grenades for the launcher. I consider myself very fortunate. Thanks again. Don

That serial number is in the IBM block. So I am guessing it is an IBM. Look under the adj sight for I.B.M. CORP.
Are there any letters on the back end of the receiver, like maybe AO?
