Mauser w/PU scope

I've a Colombian Mauser, 30-06.
Nothing special, typical 98 but with a good barrel.
I want to bed the action, turn down the bolt and add an original PU optic and side mount like the Yugoslavian M48/52 had.
I think the elevation turret (bdc) on the PU would compliment the rifle nicely since the 7.62x54r and .30-06 have very similar ballistics.
Thoughts?

the scope will be quite high depending on the type of mount,,,, is this what you are thinking of doing,in the first picture ? also the bolt bend will be quite easy as the scopes so high, but the mounting base for the scope might be a bit of a bugger to modify so it fits onto a k98 receiver

Try kbtacticalstar.com for a repro k98 sniper type mount, comes with scope bushings,
I think it might work for your application, although a bit pricey. You will need to drill & tap a bit.
