I was cleaning out my gun room and came across this stock and handguard. A friend of mine had an Inland M1icon that he brought to me for refurbishment. He got the rifle from his grandfather (no military service connection). The metal and operating parts were fine but this stock was trashed. We replaced his stock and now he is up and running again. The trashed stock perplexed me because it appears to have been handmade(??). The wood is rough and I can find no markings on it. The handguard is very different. It is a very fine texture walnut but has no aiming groove. It is absolutely flat. It is marked "IO" on the inside. It is just a mystery to me as to what they are and where they came from. Thanks!
