First, a big public shout-out to Robert B. who helped out a fellow collector who screwed up and did not check with the auction house before bidding (lesson learned!)
Second, as promised here is the bayonet in question, she is in great shape for her age and one of the last EFD made WW I examples.
From the internet pictures the month number was not readable, but the year 1916 is. I was hoping upon magnification I could determine the month but alas, it appears to be just the side of the stamping die. From observation, EFD's last WW I P1907's are dated 7/16 which I was hoping for but obviously cannot confirm.
If a collector in Germany is interested there is a nice EFD 7/16 up for auction there, but the seller will not post internationally.
Thanks again Robert!!Information
