M39 Sight Blade Height
Hello; maybe someone could tell me how do you tell the size of the front sight. I see a very faint 8 4 on the top of the blade and on the barrel about 1"- 1 1/4" back from the sight base a 7 2. would any of those numbers denote the height of the front blade? Thanks

Yes indeed.
The number on top of the sight blade is the height of the sight in millimeters.
The number on the barrel behind the front sight is the height in millimeters of the sight the rifle had when it was first built and sighted in. This number was put there so Finnish armourers would know if soldiers had been tinkering with their rifles and making unauthorised changes.
Your rifle has had its front sight blade changed since it left the factory....
