I believe the highest 1903 Remington reported is in the 3,370,000 range. Has anyone ever laid eyes on the mythical(?) 3,380,000 range Rem. '03?

I have cast my eyes on a real photo of a Remington M1903 in the S/N 3380000 range. I have a description of a second rifle in that same S/N range about 100 rifles away. The two rifles authenticate the validity of each other.

Sure like to have one of those! Never even seen a picture of one!

Thanks for your picture! I've had that picture in my files for many years and wondered who the rifles belonged to.
With no intention of sounding critical, I'll make you aware that neither of your rifles are very original. Both, for example, have replacement stocks. Nevertheless, I still admire your rifles.
Thanks again for your picture!

Thanks, John. I posted those pictures back in 2002 or so.
Neither are original as you noted.
The upper 03A3 has been through a rebuild and has a later barrel.
The stock on the lower rifle was a boxed RLB finger groove stock that now resides on a very early Remington 03. The interesting thing about the 03 receiver is that it exhibits much earlier features. Notice the lack of the "dovetail nub" on the rear of the receiver. Larry Byrd thought that it was probably set aside due to some defect and then completed later.
Thanks,
Cass
