That is the MOD acceptance stamp, your rifle was made for the Czechoslovakian army and not for export.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. One last question!

hey mate, sorry to bug you again but you seem to know your stuff! I have just ONE more question for you. On other VZ24's iv seen there is a sling attachment on the side of the stock handle. My VZ24 does not have this, Il attach some photos for you. Were early VZ24s built without this sling attachment or has someone (perhaps left handed shooter) removed it? There seems to be some deliberate markings on the area where the clip should be. What are your thoughts?

I can't help you with that one. Maybe some off the other members know? My VZ24 doesn't have a sling attachement, it has a wooden plug like yours.

Possible Germanicon modification. A lot of vz-24s were modified in one way or another i.e. sling swivel removal and the addition of bolt take down discs. Then there's the version of the vz-24 produced under German supervision, the G 24 (t)

It isn't a Germanicon modification. I found the anwser, some were made with sling attachements for both infantry (bottom of stock) and cavalry (side of stock).

All vz-24s made before annexation had infantry and cavalry sling attachments.

Vz 33s and Vz 98s had only the infantry sling attachments.
