    Blanco KG3

Does anyone know of a source for original Blanco Khaki Green No3, I picked up a few mismatched bits of patt 37 webbing from the War and Peace show, the bits come from rummaging though the trade stands in there bargain buckets, I just want try and give them a good clean and then colour match them.

You have to be careful with Australianicon and pommy blanco from memory because you can get a dry blanco and you can also get a waxy blanco. And once you've had wax blanco (like a soft shoe polish) near your webbing you can forget about ever putting the dry stuff on it again. When I was attached to The Cheshire Regt we had a dark khaki waxy blanco. But soon after I got there and changed all my stuff to wax type I went to Oz and the nightmares ended with the issue of '44 pattern stuff

Thanks Peter, Found some on ebay but not the original Blanco, but a later version in a paste (not wax). I'll keep looking, first need to clean most of it and bleach a holster its a faded RAF blue one, someone I met yesterday said just bleach the holster and possibly the map case, and dump the rest in a hot wash.

As I was going for bargain basement don't mind the work, for the times it will be displayed not worth spending a small fortune on it, can't believe some of the prices of 37 webbing, even some grotty stuff was demanding a high price.

The water bottles with carrier were around £25 +.... picked one up for £2.00 same on most stuff I picked up I paid very little, I remember when I was a kid there was a huge Army Navy store in Liverpool which sold everything...... I always remember the one floor packed with 37 patt webbing....... it was pennies.

How much blanco do you want? I am going somewhere where I maybe able to purchase some original blanco in a couple of weeks or so.

Just enough for a full set of webbing plus touch up etc, the fact I'm NOT going to wear it and will be displayed only in the dry with the bike, anything to bring the colour out would be good, I was thinking of trying cotton dye if I could find a suitable one.
