Military Gods smiled on me.
Got two 7.7 Arisakas and one untouched. Both have the soldiers name written on the rifle and with one has a date. The dated one has "Saipan. June 25th, 1944." Soldiers name is Sgt. Milton G. Smith. By the date, he was in the center of Saipan were the most fighting was going on. No luck in finding the name or grave. This one is untouched. Has Talley mark of 5 on stock.
The second has "J. J. Jones on the stock and that is it. Try looking up Jones! Have no idea where he obtained it.
