Beautiful rifles, (and pictures!) as always, Michael! I'd surely like to spend a day at your place looking over your collection!!
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Well get in line, I get a several visitors in the summer and not in the winter, wounder why? No fooling, if you or others find yourself in Anchorage let me know I'm just a few minuets from airport and all gun-nuts are welcome.
Leave your sidearm and ski mask in the car!

After Niedner moved to Dowagiac, MI he put a new barrel on his rifle and had Tom Shelhamer restock it.

I would love to have one of those. With the relative low cost of low number, and sporterized 03's, it is my understanding that one could make a .22 with 1922 M1 and M2 parts. Am I correct on this ? I believe it could be done with less expense than buying a collector 1922.
It would be great if we could get Krieger to make a limited run of 03 barrels in .22 rimfire from the Criterion side.
I would really like to build one.

M1903 to M1922's using M-2 parts
Yes Fick it can be done. I used to do it but the supply of M-2 barrels dried up. I still own two conversions and one M1922. One .22LR is as a standard
1903 service rifle but with a Lyman 48 long slide rear target sight. Just used it this weekend training in my offhand shooting at 100 yards. The second one is a 1903A3 converted to a M1903A4 sniper with a Type "C" stock. The third one I have is a M1942 USMC type sniper with a 20 power Unertl scope. This one is built on a M1922 receiver made in 1925. It's my golf ball gun for shooting golf balls at 100 yards. Frank Jr.
