Hey folks,
Just thought I'd say hi. I also usually hang out on some other surplus forums under the same screen name. My collection consists mainly of Finnish Mosins, and one lonely Enfield No4Mk1. Cheers!

Hello from Snellville Ga
I am an old fart who has just purchased his first M1 Garand and M1A. I have been around and used guns most of my life but mostly for hunting. Now that I am retired I have a new pasion, shooting small grouped holes in paper.
There are so many possible variations of M1 assemblies that I am confused.
The M1 I purchased is a July 2008 CMP SN#5,868,XXX Springfield with a Winchester trigger. CMP rebarrelled the gun
As a general question, What are the top quality of components used today to make a good accurate shooter?

Just wanted to say Hi to all y'all here on the forum and tell you a bit about myself.
I live in South Carolina, I'm retired due to health reasons. Among other things I had a kidney transplant several years ago which worked out well. My major hobbies include most aspects of firearms (collecting, shooting, reloading, gunsmithing) and my other main hobby is collecting and restoring antique tube radios. I'm also a HAM (KF4CZV). I did 10 years in the U.S. Navy (mid 70's-80's). I've had many milsurp firearms in the past but they were long since sold to pay medical bills. I am in the process of starting a new milsurp rifle collection, albeit a more modest one. I recently bought a nice Mosin-Nagant 91/30 hex receiver rifle and am about to order one of the Mossberg 44US training rifles from the CMP. It's a start!

Greetings from Cherokee Mike
I retired last year from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and I live in beautiful Mountain Home, Arkansas. I plan on spending more quality time shooting and reloading. I have recently started shooting cast bullets and light, target loads in some of my military rifles. My favorite calibers are
.22 Rimfire, .44 Magnum, .45-70, 7.62 x 39, and 7.62 x 54R.
I am an Oklahoman by birth, an Illinoisan by circumstance, and an Arkansan by choice. I enjoy reading, visiting online shooting forums, and anything that is related to reloading, shooting and hunting.
I feel blessed to live in America, and I'm proud to be a member of the Cherokee Nation. I wish everyone good health, many friends, and the freedom to exercise our Second Amendment rights. I'm looking forward to learning and sharing information with other forum members.
