    Phil. one of the questions I asked the last "friendly" rep was if they were a publicly traded company. She put me on hold and asked her supervisor. I was told that they were a privately own company - even with the word "corporation" in their name. I did not pursue it because I was a bit, ahhh, (how do the french say it?) PI$$ED, and I knew that they probably had a recording on at that point. I sent the parts back (signature required) and I am just going to see if I get at least part of the money back. I know they are licensed out of NY and of course the delivery of parts kicks some of it to federal justidiction. Half the shipment was vis UPS and the other via USPS.

    BUT - big BUT - this ain't no federal case. It was my fault for not reading and accepting exactly what every line said - I assumed and read into what was posted...

    Now that "problem" in California??? I am starting to wonder with the volume of business if there may be a case of wire fraud or mail fraud.... one or two sells ain't worth the Fed's time... but that volume he is doing may just do it. Let's see if how more IP's worth $8,000 come out of there over the next few months.

    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. TR, So far, the Feds have shown no interest at all.
    Nowadays, they have their hands full with all the kook bombers and such...
    All we can do is inform new members of the risks involved with dealing with some vendors.

    Angry Small world

    [QUOTE=Tired Retired;119764]Well, got burned today from a source I didn’t expect… Numrich.

    I just returned 5 out of 13 1903A3 parts I ordered because of wrong part, corroded parts, stripped thds, and poor finish. I have delt with them for years
    and occasionly have gotten a bad small part which I had to rework but this was too much. BUT I have been burned worse on Ebay & Gunbroker. Good
    60 y/o parts are getting hard to come by. good Luck

    I have gotten some great service from Reese Surplus (Colleen always does me right), Whatacountry and from Northridge. Of course there are others - actually numerous others that I would (will) buy from when I need particular things. I guess the only real undesirable thing is that one one person/place that I I am willing to buy from has EVERYTHING. The only one-stop-shopping places seem to be the ones with "questionable" performance.

    Has anyone else filled out their "Like The New Site?" form?
    A week or so ago I kinda unloaded my frustrations about navigating their "new and improved" web presence. They promise to respond by e-mail but I don't expect to get anything more than a generic form letter thanking me for my reply.
    I just hate to see my old go-to folks slide like they seem to have.
