Reactionary? Appears someone is hung up in using the word that leftists use to describe those who oppose them. Certainly it is a favourite communist buzz word.
As for the instructor certainly he was wrong to bring politics into a hunter safety course.
What would you want done with him 2571? Send him to a "re-education camp" so he will have the proper attitude to the messiah? I believe there are certain governments around who would do just that. Perhaps a Russian Gulag?
"And, before you ask, I went to church today, just like every Sunday."
Personally, I wouldn't dream of asking, I fully support the 1st amendment too. I was just curious. People who claim the second amendment but vote for those who vehemently oppose it just make me curious.
That said, I'm glad you were in church today. May the Lord bless and keep you.
That was Not the way to handle a class, the classes are Not the place for political talk, but you can educate people on the issues.
There are ways to discuss the issue, like telling people what the administration wants to do with the 2nd Amendment and how that would put an end to our way of life.
There are ways to make people understand what's at stake these days and how to insure our rights are protected.
I'm a fire service instructor and unless the subject being taught is politics (and it never is), I wouldn't ever bring the subject up. I may not like who you voted for, but who you voted for is none of my business. I can't for a moment understand what this guy was thinking.
The instructor was NOT within his "rights". And of course his opinion counts, but this was a hunter safety class, not a political debate!
Since when do we champion excluding someone from a legitimate activity based solely on their political views?
Now if he had come in wearing an Obama T-shirt & had proceeded to disrupt the class you could toss him out on the grounds of disrupting the class. Heck, if he came in wearing a Sarah Palin T-shirt & proceeded to disrupt the class, toss him out. But on the grounds of disrupting the class, not which T-shirt he's wearing or who he voted for.
And certainly not because he responded to a question which, on the face of it, should have never been asked in the 1st place.
I thought we've fought wars & people have died to defend the freedom to have our own opinions & vote for the candidate of our choice . . . . .
What the hell does how you vote do with the right to go hunting?
I am very fussy on who I hunt with and I might not go hunting with a Liberal if he couldn't keep his mouth shut, but then again the same applies to right wing nut jobs.
A bully is a bully no matter what side of the fence they are on and I have no use for any of them.
What the hell difference does it make WHO the kids grandparents/parents voted for?
This was a hunter safety class period, Mr. Smartmouth instructor was there to teach hunter safety and that's ALL!
If I knew of ANY type of instructor pulling that snot on young kids he'd have his butt in a sling fast.

Yes, we still have secret ballot, but no American should have to be ashamed of where they stand.
As much as I disagree with Obama, my hats off to the father of this boy who, from his point of view, went into the lion's den and when confronted, would not lower his head.
