I'm not too sure that you are right. Although the official line might be one against homosexuality I believe that the opposite may be the norm.

Whenever you try to repress some thing as natural as sex you have problems. In a strict muslim country the chances of a young man getting a bit of tail from a young lady is pretty slim ( although, not impossible I can promise you).

So humans being humans will find a way to relieve these natural urges and if they are not allowed to be with women, well the sheep better be on thier toes and if the sheep are too quick, well maybe your buddy won't be as quick.

When I was in the middle east seeing men holding hands was not that uncommon.

Nope I think that Muslims are just as likely to have homosexual tendancies as anyone else, maybe even more so.
