Korean War Vet bring back SKS????

I saw an SKS at a gun show a couple weeks ago and was told it was a vet bring back from the Korean War. Price: $650. I was expecting to see one of Russianicon mfg. but this one was a Chinese made Norinco. I've seen a few Viet Nam bring backs that were marked Chi-Com but never a Norinco. Were the Chinese even producing SKS's at the time of the Korean War?

Chinese didn't make any SKS's until after the USSR gave them the tool package. I would guess mid-1950 (1956) era. No Korean War SKS's that I am aware of. Chinese troops had piles of Mod 98's and 91/30 MN. But no SKS's.

I have searched rigorously and tirelessly and found that not even the North Koreans used the SKS during the Korean war. No SKS ever saw battle in Korea. I was totally bummed.

The North Koreans were packing them on an episode of MASH that I saw the other night.

The Chinese weren't even making Mosins until 1953 at the earliest.
