M1903 Mark I Bolt Markings

Greetings! I recently purchased a Mark I in very nice condition the original black Parkerizing and all the Mark I components are present. But the bolt is a replacement. I know this because I have Greek Return O3's and they all have the serial number scribed on the back of the bolt handle. The swept back bolt matches the rifle nicely in color and finish and headspaces properly. The top of the bolt is marked "6". Not J 6, just 6. None of my references list a bolt marked like this. Has anyone got knowledge of this? Thanks! H.T.
