    Woodmarking B/52

    Hello,
My No1mk4* Long branch has a stamping in the wood behind the triggerguard.
The rifle has a repaired stock with Savage fittings, new barrel with F51 mark and forced matched numbering on bolt and magazine. No colorite coating and no british FTR marking.
What does the stamping indicate? A kind of Canadianicon FTR in 1952?

What do you mean by 'forced matched numbering' ?

The matching numbers are not original, but renumbered. Sorry for the confusion. The number on the magazine has a line over it and the number matching to the receiver was stamped next to it. The number on the bolt seems to be grinded of and the matching number was stamped on it.

    Additional info:
Untill the sale ( in large quantities) by the international arms dealer Kettnet/Germanyicon in 1998 the history is unknown to me, but after that I know the history and nothing has been changed on the rifle. I have seen several enfields from that sale and all were in very good condition, often FTR stamped and always in cosmolineicon.

Around 1998 the Dutch army sold their stock of .303 ammunition and dealers sold this surplus ammo to competion schooters. The rifle was almost free if bought in combination with a wooden crate of this excellent and accurate surplus ammo. This surplus ammo is seldom seen now.
