    03A4 question

    I have a 1903A4 with the P proof on the bottom of the barrel in front of the stock . Is this correct ? Opinions . Thanks

    all original A4 barrels have a punch mark on the bottom side of the area were a front sight would had been, p could have been in a few places,,
    however,,,if its an A4 barrel it will have a small punch mark bottom side...

    There should be a "P" and the punch mark that Chuck described on the underside of the barrel. Both are ahead of the end of the stock and readily visible without dismantling anything.

    The barrel date and serial number should jive as well. If the barrel was replaced at some point then one or both marks will not be there.
