Need info on value typ1 Win. hammer
Hi looking for some info on a stock that is on a Win. carbine & value of the type 1 hammer in the pics. that I just pick up. Info on the gun. The only parts that are not Win. is the type 6 Inland trigger housing & trigger. The rest is Win. receiver ser.# 57542**,barrel no date, with short skirt, Mag catch type 4 M on the face plus W in front , Safety type 4 rotary there is a W tamped on the arm on top witch looks like an S. The hammer is a type 1 i think will try to put picks up. Now the stock is a M2 I would say pot belly flat bottom with the long barrel channel. No Win. markings but there is a P on the pistol grip. Question could this be a Win. stock. Here is more pics. There is a 4 rivet hand guard looks like a color match for the stock no markings.

Stock does not look to be Winchester. The P is a rebuild proof stamp. Safety is SS in a circle.

It is a potbelly w/M2 cut out, not original to a 5.7 Win

You need to post pics of the stock around the sling cut out, the right side and of the nose. The first pic seems to have a mark on the left side which MAY be from Springfield Armory.
BTW, great quality pictures.

It looks like a nice walnut M2 stock.
I think the rifle is to early to have originaly had that type stock.
Does it have a handguard?
How about some close ups of the front of the barrel band? Thanks.....Frank

Great pictures, they zoomed really good. It is not a Winchester stock, not even a very late production - sorry. I was hoping that it was a Springfield Armory since they made some really great shooter M-2 stocks. I thought there was the remnants of an "A" on the left side of the nose, but I really can not tell from the pics. You may want to inspect the left side of nose area by trying different light angles.
Hope that helps.

What marking is on that hammer?
If it's real and a hard to find one. You might have something there you could trade for a correct WRA hammer for your carbine........... plus get a correct WRA stock.

I would say hammer is a type 1 . Marking W .083 high maybe a little higher cheap caliper & NOT a white sewing machine.
