    1876 Evans Rifle Sights

    Good Morning All,

Working up my newly acquired Evans and have a question on the sights. Please let me know what are the range designation for the series of apertures. There are no markings I can see or that appear to have been worn down over time. Thanks, Randy

Just a guess, but with ballistics from the Evan's cartridge virtually indistinguishable from a .45 ACP fired from a 1911 and an advertised accuracy out to 200 yards I would hazard a guess the sight was marked in 50 yard increments?

    Good Morning,

That sounds like a good place to begin. I am hoping to get the range in two weeks to try it out. Thanks, Randy
