    Soviet WWII Helmet

I watched them for several months coming out of Ukraine. My goal was to get a WWII helmet without handing my arm and leg over for it.

Research indicates this is indeed a WWII helmet that was refurbished in 1948. Basically the difference between $129 and $600. Not going there. The $600 ones are missing liner pieces, broken straps, very rusty, etc. I don't get it.

The star stamp is the identifier. Post war stars look more sharp. WWII stars have rounded middles. Other than that, no clue what most of the other markings mean. It is a size 2 which would be a medium and it was obviously refurbished in 1948.

I believe two of the three pads are WWII vintage but again not sure. I read the zigzag pattern was use then. I've seen so many different types however it's hard to tell.

Went with a stern visage this time since I received complaints about the happy East Germanicon.

This one isn't too bad. It fits, it seems to offer a great deal of protection as it comes down on the head pretty far.
