Win Mod 52

Serial number 1419x, I believe manufactured in 1929. All original - still looks like new. No "speed-lock" bolt, real ladder sight on rear of receiver, blued, grasping groove stock with front barrel band.

Can anyone give me a value on it? I might have some photo's available to send by e-mail if anyone interested. Has mounts for Unertl scope

My Blue Book, 2009 copyright date, gives a value of $825.00 for your rifle in 100% condition. The value for a 90% rifle is given as $550.00. Your rifle should fall somewhere in between those. The scope blocks you mention came in three types, maybe more, one type was just the male dovetail with smooth edges on the top. A second one had a small hole on each side into which the tip of the mounting screw fitted. The third and most recent has a half moon milled out area on the side of the top surface. The third type was to accomade a mounting screw with a concave end that tightened into the half moon cutout. This is more than you asked but attempting to mount the wrong type ring assembly can result in damaged ends to the mounting screws. Drilling and tapping for scope blocks was standard after sn 5200. FWIW.

Thanks - a great looking (and shooting) rifle, but not competitive at the local indoor 25 yard matches against all thoses expensive Anshultz's with 25+ power scopes on them

Herschel, my 52 has scope blocks and it's befor 5200. As a matter of fact, it's number is 5199, jeeze, I wish it was just one number higher.

I love taking my 52 out to the local range and destroying the new guns out there. My was made in 1948 and it still has the sweetest trigger on it. I do have a new 16x scope on there but that just makes it look cooler. I know the anschulz are better but I prefer old school guns over a lot of the newer ones.
