Yes, I think we've discussed this one before. I did examine a Mark I (with Pedersen Device) a few years ago) that was mounted on a two-bolt GRG stock. However, the cut for the ejection port looked authentic. This one, although a nice job, is not.

The whole rifle appears to be varnished -- including the metal!

Yes, I'd like the stock, too - minus the cut. Been looking for a 1908 or 1909 CN stock for my otherwise original 1908 RIA.

Isn't that serial number way too high for the year barrel? Mine is a six digit and is put at 1914

The receiver is very "late" - early 1920, I believe. I have seen 1918 barrels on earlier Mark I. Maybe JB can comment.

My MARK I is 767 numbers away from this one and has a 3-20 barrel, I think it is the original barrel. To bad they milled a slot on the stock, would be a beautiful old RIA stock.

Either that or the whole rifle was oiled just before the pic was taken. I was just thinking that he was lucky that thing did not squirt out of his hands like a watermelon seed.

A professional woodworker/luthier can make that cut almost disappear.
