The D.A.L. looks like mine, but what is AMB? Looks like the rear gaurd screw bushing is missing also. The circle P is sans serif?
    regards,
    Chief

The AMB is a bubba's handy work with modern letter stamps (non-serif).

looks like someone used oven cleaner on the stock, the crack is from a rifle being shot without the bushing, id bet the recoil lug is cracked as well.

    Jeff,

Look closely at the stamps. The AMB stamps look older than dirt, but the DAL and proof looked like they were stamped yesterday.

    Hey Jim,

Don't know about the markings, but the finger grooves look messed up and the cutoff well looks way too perfect.

    Jim,

Other than Bubba's "AMB" stamp, the stock looks o.k. to me. As chuckindenver pointed out, the stock looks like someone cleaned it with oven cleaner.

    My 2c worth.

Note the AMB stamps are conveniently out of focus. I say those were stamped before it was cleaned with oven cleaner. My 2 cents.

The most common military AMB is "Ambulance". Maybe?
