    Mystery bayonet

I was wondering if I might get some help in Identifying a bayonet I picked up at a local auction yesterday afternoon. It appears to be stainless steel, in like new condition with a 9-3/8 inch long blade and a "Barrel hole" in the cross guard 7/8 inch diameter. It has a symbol of some sort on one side of the blade and a serial no. on the other side (see PIC). The grip and scabbard are made of a black composite material. The large diameter hole in the cross guard leads me to believe it is intended to mount on the muzzle brake/flash hider of some modern semi-auto military rifle and I'm curious to know what it is intended to fit.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

It is a Swissicon PE57 bayonet made by Victorinox. They are quite common.
