1903 SRS check?
Could someone please check 1903 Springfield No. 1429537 ? Looks like a WWII rebuild with an 8-44 date barrel.
Also 1903 SP No. 793114.
Does SRS list RIA rifle numbers?
THANKS! Salt Flat

No hit for 1.429.537, also not in a block of SRS rifles.
Also for the second rifle, no hit for 793.114, again not in a block of SRS rifles.

Yes, SRS does list RIA numbers but they are relatively uncommon. They also don't tell you if SA numbers listed COULD be RIA numbers. I have SA #78180 which is a "hit" on SRS, and shows some service with the 10th Cavalry in Arizona in the early 1920s. The rifle they list is obviously a RIA by that number, as the rifle I have is documented to have been owned by a Montana mining engineer and executive since 1908 and is in nearly all original condition. As a result, I would be suspicious of any SRS listing up to the last RIA receiver made, 430742.

Promo and Rick, Thanks for looking and for the RIA info. Another question came to mnd about the SRS. Do you see blocks of consecutive numbers going to the same unit or location? Or were the serials randomly dispersed? I guess what I am thinking about is if you have a number that is not listed but close to a listed number, could you surmise that it went to the same unit?
