Good maintenance manuals for no4s please?

Things like strip down, adjustments etc. Something Like a Haynes manual for cars...but for a no4.

ssj: There may not be anything quite like that out there. Lots of old books like de Haas "Bolt Action Rifles" explain the mechanism, show exploded diagrams, and give basic stripdown instructions but no real detail. Lately, in addition to the online articles such as those of Peter Laidler on this forum, I've found some reprints of Canadian and English armourers manuals which do, indeed, have the detail. One of the Canadian ones is dated 1991! ("First Line Maintenance Instructions- Rifle, Calibre .303, N0. 4, All Marks, With Equipment"). The oldest one I have is English, dated 1931. I believe the source was a company called Cornell publications on e-bay (unlike some out there I love e-bay). If you don't have any of these armourers manuals I would highly recommend them.

This can be found on a page not far from where you are currently reading and should be the link to the 1991 version of the Canadian instructions.

There as a later version, but it lacks a lot of detail as the rifle was just about completely out of service anywhere by 2000.

There is an earlier version:
C-71-111-000/MM-000, dated 14Sep1984, but I have never seen a copy. Any lucky Canadians have one stashed away?

Parts of the Canadian manual seem to have been "recycled" in a manual published by something called "Gun Plumber Press" as well.

I'll see what else I can find and ask the nice Mr. Badger to publish it, if he has not done so already.
