model 1917 eddystone bolt

my eddystone has a bolt marked with a K and the ordnance mark on the bottom side . Does anyone know the maker of this bolt ? thanks for any assistance .

The "K" stamp indicates that this is a WWII replacement bolt. All other bolts are marked with a "W"(Winchester), "E"(Eddystone) or an "R"(Remington). These were the original manufacturers that ceased all production in 1919. Just before Pearl Harbor the US kicked into high gear for war production. All existing rifles were refurbished and the government had to contract out for new M1917 parts like barrels and bolts.
If you plan to shoot your M1917, the K bolt would possibly be better than an original bolt and more likely to headspace correctly. Just my opinion.

The "K" bolt is a WWII replacement. Not nickel steel they run nicely in the M1917's.
